Aerobics Activity

Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the goal of improving all elements of fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness). It is usually performed to music and may be practiced in a group setting led by an instructor. With the goal of preventing illness and promoting physical fitness, practitioners perform various routines comprising a number of different dance-like exercises. Our aerobics classes are divided into different levels of intensity and complexity and have five components: warm-up (5–10 minutes), cardiovascular conditioning (25–30 minutes), muscular strength and conditioning (10–15 minutes), cool-down (5–8 minutes) and stretching and flexibility (5–8 minutes).

Western Band

The students of class 6, 7 and 8 learnt basics and some popular western music during the first half of the session 2023-2024. They learnt how to unleash the musical talent in them. They learned many songs by popular singers like Believer by Imagine Dragons, Count on me by Bruno Mars, Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Music, Conquest of Paradise, Faded by Alan Walker and Coffin Dance by Tony Igy. Quiz Activity

QUIZZING IS FUN AND IF LEARNING IS FUN, WE LEARN BETTER.

Quizzing is not just about GK, but about connecting the dots, reading between the lines and arriving at a conclusion. The quiz club aims to give them guidance on specific areas of Quizzing and encourage them to participate in quizzes. It also teaches them interpersonal skills, as most competitive quizzing is conducted for teams of two or more and teamwork is the only way to success. The more they play quizzes the better equipped they become for quickly recalling the information required to answer questions. The sessions aim to increase awareness about Indian Heritage, Sports and Entertainment, Mythology, Literature, Science and Technology, Business and Politics.

Generation Global and Debate Activity

“Young people are open-minded global citizens who leverage intercultural dialogue to engage with diversity and navigate global challenges.”

The Generation Global and Debate Skill Activity aims to help students of classes 6 to 8 to enhance their speaking, communication and listening skills. We organise debates on various topics in groups in order to encourage collaborative work and students can present their thoughts, while opening their minds to other perspectives.

The members engage in brainstorming sessions to generate potential arguments and counterarguments related to the debate topics. The presentations cover key arguments, relevant statistics, and historical context to provide a solid foundation for the upcoming debates. Following the presentations, the members explore diverse perspectives and build a well-rounded understanding of the issues. The participants are

usually divided into teams to ensure structured and organized debates. Each team consists of a mix of experienced and new debaters to encourage skill development and collaboration. Each member had a predetermined time limit to present their viewpoint and respond to potential challenges posed by the

opposing team. The audience has the opportunity to pose questions and this interactive session

encourages critical thinking and provides clarity on specific aspects of the debate. Debates were conducted on varied topics like Global Warming, History is an Obsolete Subject, Grammar or Conversational Skills?, Newspapers are a Thing of the Past, etc. Students get a chance to hone their reflective and questioning skills as they are motivated to ask relevant questions.

The members are also enlightened about the Generation Global flagship education programme of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. They help young people embrace their future, equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become active, global and open-minded citizens. The five core skills that we lay emphasis on are Global Communication, Active Listening, Critical Thinking, Asking Questions and Reflection. Through an interactive session and engaging discussion, students gain valuable insights helpful to become active, open-minded and global citizens.

The Generation Global and Debate Club weekly meetings prove to be both informative and engaging, as members dive into the intricacies of the topics given. The structured format allows for a well-organized

exchange of ideas and fosters the development of critical thinking and public speaking skills among participants.
